Turf toe is one of those conditions that often affects people who play sports more than other people. You are at an even more increased risk if you play on artificial turf (for instance, a football player is in more danger than a soccer player). When it happens, your big toe is sprained, you’re in pain, and you can’t do much but hobble around. So how long is this going to last? With a proper treatment regimen of rest, ice, compression, and elevation, also known as RICE therapy, you can usually expect to be back on your feet in about three to six weeks. There are factors involved that can affect the timing of turf toe recovery, though, such as the severity of the injury and how diligent you are about resting your feet.
