With more than 15 years dedicated to podiatry in North Andover, Haverhill, and surrounding areas, Dr. Mitchell Wachtel is an expert in foot pain. We look forward to getting to know you and work with you to find the best solutions for your own or your family’s foot and ankle concerns.

Before Your Visit

A lot happens at your first podiatry visit. To get the most out of your time with Dr. Mitchell Wachtel, be sure all your questions are answered, and help save you time, it’s best to prepare for your appointment ahead of time. At check-in, you will need a photo ID and your insurance cards, so please bring them with you and be ready to show them to the front desk staff. If you’re not sure if we partner with your insurance provider, connect with us before your appointment to find out. We have several forms that need to be filled out completely, so we recommend you download them, print them off, fill them out, and bring them with you to speed up the check-in process.

Please wear shoes that you use regularly, and bring any orthotic devices or athletic shoes you wear frequently with you as well. Examining wear-and-tear on your footwear can help provide insight into your gate and potential lower limb issues, so our team may want to see them. We also recommend that you write down your symptoms and a list of questions you have for the doctor to bring with you. It’s easy to forget everything you want to say or bring up during your appointment, so this helps you address all your concerns. Our staff will be recording a basic medical history and a list of your current medications and allergies as well, so it may be helpful to write all that information out ahead of time, too.

Your First Appointment

At your first appointment, our team will carefully examine your feet, toes, and nails. Depending on your symptoms and potential problems, this can involve a variety of tests, from having you stand or perform foot motions to feeling your feet to using diagnostic images like X-rays. We will also go over your symptoms, possibly examine your shoes, and answer any questions you may have. From there we can formulate a diagnosis and work with you to establish a treatment plan. Depending on your needs, this may involve follow-up appointments to check on your progress and further refine treatments.

ALL PATIENTS: Please bring your photo ID and all insurance cards to your appointments. This will assist us with any insurance questions and help prevent you from inadvertently getting a bill.
TODOS LOS PACIENTES: Traiga su identificación con foto y todas las tarjetas de seguro a sus citas. Esto nos ayudará con cualquier pregunta sobre el seguro y ayudará a evitar que usted reciba una factura sin darse cuenta.
